Synopsis of Events Before the Lord’s Coming

Unlike what some believe, the Second Coming of Jesus is NOT imminent…yet.

Scripture indicates that there are certain events that must occur first, then the Lord will come.

  1. Iran successfully invades the Middle East and takes it over. Then Turkey counterattacks, trampling it very quickly (see the Vision of Goat and Ram, Daniel 8:1-27).
  2. Turkey’s leader dies, and its lands are divided into 4 kingdoms (Daniel 8:8).
  3. The Antichrist arises from one of the 4 countries (Daniel 8:9-12).
  4. The Antichrist confirms a 7-year treaty with Israel (Daniel 9:27), and a 10-nation coalition will support him (Revelation 17:12).
  5. Falling away of Christians (The Great Apostasy, 2 Thessalonians 2:3)
  6. The Third Temple must be built so that the Antichrist can stop the daily sacrifice and proclaim himself as a god in the temple (Daniel 9:27 & 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4). The 7-year treaty may include provisions to build the temple, but it’s also possible that the temple may have already been constructed even before the Antichrist’s rise.
  7. Wars (2nd Seal); one of the wars must involve Egypt (Isaiah 19:2-4, Daniel 11:25-45).
  8. Famine and resulting food price hikes (3rd Seal). The price or supply of oil and wine is relatively unaffected.
  9. At 3.5 years after the treaty, Antichrist reneges on the treaty and attacks Israel, resulting in the fall of Jerusalem, death, and deportation of many Jews (4th Seal, Daniel 9:27, Luke 21:24). Stops the daily sacrifice and proclaims self as God. The remnant of Jews will survive in the desert/wilderness (Revelation 12:6 and 12:14).
  10. Persecution of Christians (5th Seal) resulting in slavery and death, including beheadings (Revelation 13:9, Revelation 20:4).
  11. The Lord returns at the 6th Seal.

Guiding Principles in Interpreting Biblical Prophecies

Here is how Nadiia Dakota interpreted Scriptures, especially regarding the End Times prophecies in the Bible.

Core beliefs

God is the ultimate author of Scripture, and His books were written by various people who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. God is Trinitarian (there is only one God, made up of Three Persons: The Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit). All prophecies in the Bible that have not yet been fulfilled will come true. Lord Jesus will return to Earth a second time to reign over the whole world.

Literal fulfillment

Out of over 1000 prophecies fulfilled by the Bible, almost all of them are fulfilled on a literal basis. For instance, Jesus was born in Bethlehem and by a virgin. His ministry was preceded by John the Baptist; He had the Spirit of God, rode a donkey triumphantly to Jerusalem, and was crucified to atone for our sins. Thus, it’s highly likely that End Times prophecies that are found in the Book of Revelation, Isaiah, Ezekiel, etc, will also be fulfilled literally rather than “spiritually”.

Partial and full prophetic fulfillment

Some prophecies can be fulfilled in part initially and then fulfilled fully later. Jesus Himself interpreted a prophecy during His ministry this way when He read Isaiah 61:1-2a, “The Spirit of the Lord God is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” He did not read the very next line, which was, “and the day of our God’s vengeance; to comfort all who mourn, to provide for those who mourn in Zion; to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, festive oil instead of mourning, and splendid clothes instead of despair.” While the First Coming of Jesus fulfilled this first part of Isaiah’s prophecy, the latter portion of the prophecy that declares God’s vengeance and comfort to Israelites will be fulfilled during Jesus’s Second Coming.

In Acts 2:17-21, Apostle Peter also partially interpreted Joel 2:28-32 prophecy when he identified the crowd hearing his words in their native tongues during Pentecost as the prophecy’s fulfillment. This had to be a partial fulfillment because the latter part of Joel’s prophecy (“The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood”) had not come true yet. It will be fully fulfilled at the 6th seal, and this is also why I believe at the last of the last days, it will be common for Christians to be able to experience visions, dreams, and utter prophecy via the Holy Spirit.
